Mike and I discuss Bakharani Massacre, our “band” with Jeff. Our only appearance outside Jeff’s second-floor room was a 10-minute performance this night between The Revelators’ two sets.
John (from St. Louis) and Ryan (from Raleigh, N.C.) moved into their respective freshman dorms and somehow heard about the party in Jeff’s living room. It was their first notable event in their brand-new town. Rita is 90 percent sure she was at the show.
Bob first connected with Jeff in late 1992 or early 1993, upon The Loud Family’s release of “Plants And Birds and Rocks and Things.”
Brian first bonded with Jeff in 1994, when he stopped by Whizz! to pick up a copy of “Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain.”
A teenager at the time of the show, Christian remembers Jeff as someone whose boundless enthusiasm encouraged Columbia’s small scene.
